Global Unity Cup – Impact Report
The Global Unity Cup is an international community sports tournament designed to promote peace, inclusion, and friendship among diverse groups. Delivered by Eagle Eyes NGO (EENGO), the tournament brings together young people and adults from refugee, migrant, and local communities to celebrate unity through football. The 2025 Global Unity Cup demonstrated how sport can break down barriers, strengthen relationships, and inspire hope—particularly for communities affected by conflict and displacement.
Objectives
- Promote social cohesion by bringing different nationalities and cultures together.
- Support refugee and migrant wellbeing through positive, structured physical activity.
- Provide safe community spaces for young people and families.
- Celebrate diversity and foster mutual understanding and respect.
- Develop skills including teamwork, leadership, communication, and confidence.
Event Overview
The 2025 Global Unity Cup engaged over 400 participants from more than 16 nationalities, including Afghan, Iran, Brazil, India, Pakistan, Sir Lanka, EU countries, African, Middle Eastern, and British communities. The tournament included youth and adult teams, volunteers, referees, community leaders, and local partners. Matches ran over two full days with professional organisation, qualified referees, and a welcoming environment for families and spectators.
Organisation and Delivery
EENGO and its founder, Mr Heshmatullah Assadi, led the planning and delivery of the tournament in close collaboration with community partners. Key factors contributing to successful delivery included:
- Strong coordination and communication with teams and volunteers
- Ensuring cultural sensitivity and creating a family-friendly atmosphere
- Providing translation, first-aid support, and clear safeguarding measures
- Effective scheduling, venue management, and team registration
- Encouraging youth involvement in coaching, officiating, and event roles
Feedback from participants praised the event for its professionalism, organisation, and positive atmosphere.

Good tournament overall. Suggested improvements: better match
organisation, use official referees, enforce late arrival rules, and
shorten non-final matches to avoid long delays.

Expressed gratitude for the invitation. Praised the tournament as
well-organised, inclusive, and attended by over 400 people from multiple
UK cities. Commended Mr. Asadi’s dedication to community unity,
equality, peacebuilding, and supporting vulnerable people facing
immigration, housing, welfare, education, or mental health struggles.
Hopes that philanthropists and government bodies will support his efforts.
